Don Aronow, the millionaire powerboat builder, founded Thunderboat Row–a nickname for a string of marinas and boat manufacturers–when he started high-performance boat companies on Northeast 188th Street in 1961 in Miami, Florida.
The street has a rich boating history that combines the famous and the infamous of South Florida’s water culture.
Sheikhs, Kings, Presidents, federal agents and drug traffickers have shopped on Thunderboat Row. Among them, King Juan Carlos of Spain, the late Shah of Iran and President George Bush are known to have bought speed boats on this street.
This shirt was specifically designed to honor and remember all the innovators and the greatness they achieved on this street in the 1960’s, 1970’s and 1980’s.
